My partner is born in Platamonas, Greece and we went there for a holiday two summers in a row. The last time was six years ago....
We became parents five years ago. After six months the first one was born I was already pregnant of the second! Our second child had an heart deffect. So it was not managable to go on a holiday in this chaos. And of course there was corona.
So, now our youngest child had a succesfull operation and recovery, we thought we all deserved a good time in Platamonas! And we enjoyed the hell out of it!
Mountains of Olympus: A Mythical Adventure for the Whole Family Our journey to Platamonas began with the breathtaking sight of Mount Olympus looming in the distance. Known in Greek mythology as the home of the gods, this majestic mountain range is a hiker's paradise. Our family, including the kids, embarked on an unforgettable short trek through the foothills of Olympus.
There is a lovely little mountain village called Palios Panteleimonas with steap alleys, restaurants under the trees and shops with the loveliest people. I fell in love with this place six years ago and still love it.
Platamonas Beach: Sun, Sand, and Smiles
After our mountain adventure, we were ready for some beach time, and Platamonas did not disappoint. The town boasts a beautiful, sandy beach with clear waters, perfect for swimming and building sandcastles.
